1984 Chevrolet M1028/K30. Military version of the Chevy K30 with the 6.2L Diesel, TH400 automatic transmission, NP208 Transfer case, 14 bolt FF rear axle with 4.56 gears and Detroit locker, Dana 60 front axle with 4.56 gears and limited slip, original front brush guard and D rings, rear D rings and pintle hook, military grade tow bar included. I’m the 3rd owner (1st US military, 2nd private party), and have used the truck for deer hunting in south Texas, clear blue TX title in my name.
Truck is in excellent mechanical condition with all the following work performed in the past 3 years: • New radiator, hoses, and belts. • New oil pan gasket and ORD motor mounts, new harmonic balancer. • Rebuilt starter and driver side alternator. • New glow plug relay and controller card. • Transmission filter and fluid serviced. • Replaced transfer case with a rebuilt unit when original unit developed hairline crack in rear case half. • Re-tubed and balanced drive shaft, new rear u-joint, new rear pinion flange. • New batteries. • New fuel pump, new spin on fuel filter. • New front and rear urethane spring eye greasable bushings, new front spring shackles, new sway bar bushings. • New Bilstein 5100 shocks all around, new BFG Mud Terrains, 285/75/16, 16X10 steel wheels. • New dash, new seat bottom foam and Naugahyde covering, plus Wet Okole seat cover. • New cab floor covering with floor sanded and primed before adding Dynamat sound deadening insulation, new door seals, new window actuators so windows roll up and down smoothly. • New headlights.
Only current issues are 1) leaking heater core which has been bypassed (not an issue on a south TX deer lease), and 2) quarter sized rust spot on driver side rear cab corner, and 3) fuel line leak can lose prime over night on a cold morning.
